Oxygen, Cargo and Depth: Plan Every Dive

Use one objective, a reserved cargo budget and a known escape route to make deeper dives safer and more productive.

Know the depth bands

The base Blue Hole is organized into Shallows (0–50 m), Medium Depth (50–130 m) and Depths (130–250 m), with later story biomes beyond them.

  • Layouts and loose item spawns vary
  • Named rooms and story spaces are more consistent
  • Depth plus subarea is more reliable than a pixel-perfect coordinate

Use a five-step dive plan

Choose one primary objective before entering the water and make every detour justify its oxygen and cargo cost.

  • Descend quickly
  • Collect only route-adjacent filler
  • Reserve weight for the target
  • Identify an escape pod
  • Turn back before oxygen becomes the emergency

Skip fights that do not serve the route

Oxygen is both health and time. A shark encounter that does not protect a target or unlock a path is usually a bad trade.

  • Use vertical dodges against straight charges
  • Carry emergency oxygen on boss routes
  • Clear cargo before a forced story encounter
